Fine classical
guitars traditionally are made with rosewood back and sides, spruce or cedar
tops, necks of mahogany, fingerboards of ebony. This is, however, is only the
beginning of a complex story. Such woods come in various varieties and grades of
quality. Their behavior as tone woods also depends on how they are cut, dried,
and aged.
